Essential oils are known for their therapeutic skin healing abilities. Used in moderation, these oils can be more then useful for aiding in everything from wrinkles to acne to scars: Carrot seed, elemi, Citrus, frankincense EOs help fight the sings of aging. Geranium, Clary, lavender can help with oily skin. Bergamot, Helichrysum, Cajeput can be useful with healing and soothing Psoriasis.
Ingredients, Herbs and Oils for the bath:
Chamomile bath for a relaxing bath to ease weariness and pain, add a few drops of chamomile essential oil to bath water. Alternatively, make up a liter of chamomile tea and add to the bath water

Lavender. Research indicates anti-inflammatory, analgesic properties useful in cases of arthritis, rheumatism, muscular aches, pains and sports injuries. Calming, relaxing properties soothe stress, used in the evening bath, added as the water is running,

Oatmeal. Very moisturizing. Use to relieve itchiness and dry skin. Grind the oatmeal before adding to bath water. Can use regular store bought oatmeal or a holistic powder type.

Epsom Salts. May soften skin and exfoliate, Provides magnesium, which has been shown to: Ease stress, Lower blood pressure, Create a happy, relaxed feeling, Raise energy levels

Basil:  anxiety, stress, respiratory problems

Black pepper: stimulates circulation, muscular aches, colds

Eucalyptus: colds, cuts, insect bites

Rosemary: bronchitis, memory problems

Sandalwood: Used as an antidepressant and aphrodisiac

Camphor essential oil. A powerful antiseptic that aids in the treatment of respiratory ailments, opens blocked nasal passages, relieves congestion, reduces muscular aches, pains and stiffness. Great in bath soaks for cold and flu.
Epsom exfoliate

Ingredients:
2 cups of Epsom Salt
1/4 cup of petroleum jelly
3 drops of lavender essential oil.

Instructions:
Mix ingredients. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
When using essential oils in baths, do not apply to running bath water or the oil will evaporate. Also, Never use on children or while pregnant. Read all warnings before use! You can also add oils to a carrier oil to dilute and for a more moisturizing bath soak. Oils such as jojoba and sweet almond work great! Use 1 tablespoon carrier oil
Easy breezy Bubble Bath

Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1 cup cream of tartar
1/4 cup cornstarch

Instructions:
Combine the ingredients in a jar or plastic tub. Use a few tablespoons per bath. Use powders fragrances.
Coconut Almond Soap

Ingredients:
1/3 cup whole almonds
1 (4 ounce) bar Castile soap
1/4 cup distilled water
1 tablespoon almond oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/8 teaspoon coconut c2o

Instructions:
Grind the almonds to a fine powder in a food processor and set aside. Then Shred the soap and set aside. In a heavy saucepan bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Remove the pan from the heat and add the almond powder, almond and coconut oil and fragrance oil, until well blended. Spoon the soap into a mold and let set for five hours or until hardened.
Olive Oil Loofah Bar

Ingredients:
1 (4 ounce) bar Castile soap
1/4 cup distilled water
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 teaspoon powdered loofah
1 drop green food coloring {optional}

Instructions:
Shred the soap and set aside. Heat the water in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Stir in the shredded soap until it forms a sticky mass. Remove the pan from the heat and add the olive oil, loofah powder and food coloring. Stir until well blended. Spoon the soap into mold and set for 4 hours or until hardened.
Cold/Flu relief Bath Soak

Ingredients:
two cups Epsom Salt
3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
3 drops rosemary essential oil

Instructions:
Combine ingredients and pour into the stream of warm water as your tub fills. Epsom salt contains magnesium, which has been shown to:  Ease stress, Lower blood pressure, Create a happy, relaxed feeling, Raise energy levels, Help prevent or ease migraine headaches, Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps and so many more health benefits.
Bath Bombs

Ingredients:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup citric acid
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
1 teaspoon water
1 teaspoon fragrance oil or essential oil
1/8 teaspoon borax

Instructions:
Mix the first 3 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Combine oil, water, fragrance and borax in jar and coloring, if desired. Shake jar vigorously to mix. Add liquid to dry ingredients a bit at a time and quickly mix with a pastry blender. Press into molds or roll into balls and let sit  overnight to dry, store in a glass jar.
milk Skin-Softening Bath

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons Epsom salts
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 drops lavender essential oil

Instructions:
Combine ingredients and pour into the stream of warm water as your tub fills.
Lavender& Honey Milk Bath

Ingredients:
10 drops Lavender Essential oil
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/3 cup Honey

Instructions:
Mix together lavender oil, milk and honey in a bowl, then pour into a jar. Before each use, shake the jar and pour half of the mixture into the bath. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. yields 2 baths.
Spa index Bath Cookies

2 cups finely ground sea salt
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 T light oil
1 tsp vitamin E oil
2 eggs
5-6 drops essential oil of your choice

Preheat your oven to 350 F. Combine all the listed ingredients and form into a dough.  Using a teaspoon or so of dough at a time, roll it gently in the palm of your hand until it forms a ball.  Form all dough into one teaspoon balls, and gently place them on an non greased cookie sheet.  Consider sprinkling the bath balls with herbs, flower petals, cloves, citrus zest and similar aromatic ingredients.   Bake your bath cookies for ten minutes, until they are lightly browned. Do not over bake. Allow the bath cookies to cool completely. To use, Drop 1 or 2 cookies into a warm bath and allow to dissolve. Yield: 24 cookies, enough for 12 baths. courtesy of www.SpaIndex.Com
Epsom Bath Crystal

Ingredients:
two cups of Epsom Salt
few drops essential oil

Instructions:
Mix ingredients. Store in an air-tight container
ROMAN BATH SOAK

Ingredients:
1 cup of fine grade oil (consider sesame, olive, apricot, or avocado oil)
1 cup of mild shampoo or liquid Castile soap
1/2 tsp. of  fragrance oil or essential oil of your choice

Directions:
This is easy but indulgent soak which is ideal for winter dry skin. Combine all of your ingredients in a clean bottle or jar.  Shake vigorously before each use, and dispense one to two tablespoons into your rapidly running bath water.  You'll find the addition of mild shampoo helps to both emulsify and disburse the oil liberally throughout the bath water, for even distribution and coverage on your skin --- instead of the tub. courtesy of www.SpaIndex.Com
Foaming Vanilla Honey Bath Oil

Ingredients:
1 cup light oil, such as mineral oil, massage oil, or baby oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup unscented liquid soap or unscented shampoo
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:
Mix together all the ingredients in a clean bottle with tight fitting lid.  When ready to use, shake vigorously, and pour 1/4 cup under running bath water.

Cherry Vanilla Bubble Bath

Ingredients:
1/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup unscented shampoo
2 tablespoons rose water
1 tablespoon liquid glycerin
1/2 teaspoon table salt
5 drops cherry fragrance oil
5 drops vanilla fragrance oil  -or- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract

Directions:
Whisk all ingredients until well blended. Pour desired amount under running water in the bath, and, open the lid of of a pint of Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream. Eat while bathing (although that part is optional).  courtesy of www.SpaIndex.Com
PSORIASIS Bath Salts

Ingredients:
2 C Epsom Salts
1 C Sea Salt or Rock Salt
2 tablespoon Baking Soda
3 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops Sandalwood essential oil
3 drops German chamomile essential oil

Instructions:
Mix salts together in a bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. If using EOs, drop 1 drop at a time stirring well. Allow mixture to dry completely for 6 hours before packaging. Store in glass jars.
Lavender Fizzy Bath Salts

Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup Epsom salt
3 tablespoon dendritic salt
15 drops lavender essential oil
1/4 teaspoon manganese violet

Instructions:
Combine the baking soda, citric acid ,Epsom salt, dendritic salt in a glass bowl, stir well. Add manganese violet. Mix until you get a purple color to the mixture. Add the lavender essential oils and stir until combined. Sprinkle into bath.
Itch Reliever Bath Salts

Ingredients:
2 C Epsom Salts
1 C Sea Salt or Rock Salt
2 tablespoon Baking Soda
3 drops Jasmine essential oil
3 drops peppermint essential oil
3 drops Lavender essential oil

Instructions:
Mix salts together in a bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. If using EOs, drop 1 drop at a time stirring well. Allow mixture to dry completely for 6 hours before packaging. Store in glass jars.
