Essential oils are known for their therapeutic skin healing abilities. Used in moderation, these oils can be more then useful for aiding in everything from wrinkles to acne to scars: Carrot seed, elemi, Citrus, frankincense EOs help fight the sings of aging. Geranium, Clary, lavender can help with oily skin. Bergamot, Helichrysum, Cajeput can be useful with healing and soothing Psoriasis.
Natural Homemade Skin Care Recipes: Herbal Acne Remedies
Carrier oils for acne recipes:
Grapeseed oil is light in texture and is easily absorbed by the skin. Making it perfect for normal to oily skin. Grape seed oil has mildly astringent qualities, which help to tighten and tone the skin, making it a good cosmetic ingredient for anti-aging products. Grapeseed oil is known to contain powerful antioxidants. It is noted to be especially effective for repair of the skin around the eyes, making it an essential to homemade eye serums. Also works great for acne.
Skin Type: all skin types, great for oily and acne prone skin
Absorption/Feeling on skin: light oil, easily absorbed oil for all skin types
Usage Amount: Can be used at 100% strength
Jojoba oil closely resembles that of your own skin sebum. Thus making it the number one carrier oil used for all skin types. It has exceptional skin-softening properties, as well as the ability to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, promoting skin suppleness while assisting with the rejuvenation of the skin. Jojoba oil helps to break down sebum in plugged-up pores.
Skin Type:  nourishing oil for all skin types, most resembles your own skin oils. Good choice for oily or acne prone skin.
Absorption/Feeling on skin: non-greasy
Usage Amount: Can be used at 100% straight from the bottle.
Camellia Oil has skin restructuring and moisturizing properties, and makes a superb nail strengthener. Camellia oil is one of Nature's best kept secrets being high in antioxidants and loaded with nutrients.
Skin Type: all skin types, including mature, ultra sensitive, oily, combination, and acne prone.
Absorption/Feeling on skin: light in texture and absorbs quickly.
Usage Amount: 2-10% in most formulations
Hazelnut oil is a light, penetrating oil that is slightly astringent. It is a suitable addition to formulations intended to be used on acne prone skin. Hazelnut oil is high in essential fatty acids and is soothing and healing to dry, irritated skin. Tones and tightens skin, helps maintain firmness and elasticity. encourages cell regeneration, stimulates circulation.
Skin Type: Useful as base for oily, combination skins, acne.
Absorption/Feeling on skin: A light,non-greasy, toning oil for combination skin types
Usage Amount: Use 100% as base or in 10% dilution.
Essential oils for acne recipes:
Pimple Remedy 2

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions:
Apply  paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash off next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will disappear gradually. Believe it or not, a mixture of honey and cinnamon is great fro an abscess tooth!!
Pimple Remedy

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon milk (milk works wonderfully to remove redness!)

Instructions:
Mix the ingredients together and apply to infected area or pimple. Can be washed off after 20 minutes or apply before bed and rinse in am.
Acne Tomato Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:
1/4 of a tomato mashed and seeded
3 tsp. of plain yogurt
1 tsp mashed cucumber
1 tsp aloe gel
3 tsp Oatmeal
2 mint leaves (crushed).

Instructions:
Mix ingredients, apply to face and leave on for about 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Controls Oily skin
Acne Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup oatmeal, ground finely
-half an apple, ripe
-cut 2 inches off a cucumber
-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions:
Blend well, it might be a little tough, so I advise you to cut the apple and cucumber before putting it in the blender. Apply fresh onto face, leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This mask will help to reduce redness, oil and blackheads.
Exfoliating Oily skin  Facial Cleanser Recipe

Ingredients:
1 tsp powdered skim milk
1 tsp honey
few drops of apple vinegar

Instructions:
Mix ingredients in a bowl. Apply to skin in a circular motion for a minute or 2. Rinse with a warm cloth and water.
Strawberry Acne Cleanser Recipe

Ingredients:
strawberry yogurt or
1 strawberry
2 tbs plain yogurt

Instructions:
Apply to skin in a circular motion for a minute or 2. Rinse with a warm cloth and water. Great for oily skin as well.
Acne Face Toner Recipe

Ingredients:
4oz Witch Hazel
10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

Instructions:
Mix ingredients well in bottle. Shake before each Use. Apply to face with cotton ball after cleansing
Herbal Acne Face Cleanser Recipe

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon Hazelnut Oil
2 tablespoon Grapeseed Oil
5 drops Myrrh essential oil: balances the hydration of the skin,  and helps to remove toxins from skin tissue, promoting general tissue repair.
5 drops Patchouli: promotes and stimulates new cell growth. Calm inflamed skin making it perfect for mature skin that tends to have acne!!!
5 Drops Tea Tree oil: Astringent properties

Herbal Acne Face Lotion Recipe

Ingredients:
1 oz. Beeswax
4 oz. Hazelnut Oil
15 drops Tea tree essential oil
15 drops Myrrh essential oil

Instructions:
Melt wax and oil together, when melted, blend thoroughly, let cool to about lukewarm, add Essential Oil and then cool completely. Store in a glass jar.
Acne Serum Moisturizer Recipe

Ingredients:
1 oz. Apricot kernel oil
12 drops lavender essential oil
7 drops Tea tree essential oil
1 drop geranium essential oil

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a clear plastic or glass bottle. Shake for 2 minutes. To use: apply 1-2 drops after washing.
